Temperature

Is temperature important?"
Like humidity and light, your orchid plant is heavily affected by the temperature of its environment.  Orchids, in nature, are tropical plants that grow in shaded areas.  They typically grow in warmer climates .  Allowing your orchid to become too cold or too hot will often damage or even kill your plant.
In general, 60 - 80 degrees Fahrenheit is a safe range.

Suggested Temperature Ranges
The following are some suggested temperature ranges for different types of orchids.  These are general ranges.  Your orchid may be able to handle cooler or warmer temperatures than indicated below.   It is best to contact the grower to find out if your orchid is cool or warm growing.  For example, most of our plants, grown in Hawaii, are warm-growing, which means they can handle the higher temperatures.
